Michael Bennit is a former Green Beret turned history teacher who strives to inspire his students. After losing a bet to one of his classes, he is forced to do something he never imagined: run for political office. Wanting to teach his pupils a lesson in civics, he offers them a chance to run his campaign against a slimy incumbent bent on destroying them at any cost.
Once in Washington, he is joined by several students on his staff and finds himself tackling a greater challenge than the ones he met on the battlefield: politicians in Congress. Eager to destroy the upstart independent who has captured national attention, the political class pulls out all the stops to destroy him and end his time in the nation's capital.
