Q: I really love your books! I saw on Facebook that you are writing a Christmas book. It looks really interesting. What made you do that? I'm looking forward to reading it! --Nichole Z.

A:  Great question. Thank you, Nichole. I have been wanting to write one for a long time but didn't come up with the idea until this past spring. I love books and movies with good plots and compelling character arcs. I also like Hallmark Christmas movies which usually don't have either of those. I wanted to write a romance with two likeable people on opposite sides of the aisle wrapped around a political suspense. Voila! Banning Santa is born!

Q: I read on social media that you didn't mention political parties in your new novel. Why not? How can you avoid that, and why did you? --Mark L.

A: I could have. Some may argue I should have. I think most readers can probably figure out who is who in the novel by where are they from. The reason why I didn't mention it is simple: Who cares? There is enough political division along party lines in this country. It's a Christmas book. It isn't meant to be an expose on right vs. left. It is a story about the holiday and how we choose to celebrate it. I didn't see the point of angering people over a cherished holiday. We have the news for that.

 Favorite Locations

I typically restrict locations I write about to landmarks and rarely talk about private businesses in my novels. Banning Santa is a little different. I have been to most of these places and was inpired enough to include them in the book. I have included links below if you want to check them out. I can honestly say that I loved Finland and enjoy Iceland so much that I've been there three times. If you ever have the chance to visit either country, I highly recommend it.
